Massage is the manipulation of soft tissue. Some of the ways we do this are by applying pressure to, moving and/or holding the body. When we are in pain or discomfort it is an instinctive response to touch and hold, right?
It has been my experience that massage can assist a person in relieving the tension or stress that accumulates in our body, mind, and spirit. It is all related. Massage/touch helps heighten our body awareness. Hopefully, with this awareness, we can begin to see a relationship between our attitudes, our feelings, our behaviors, our posture and our gait. All of these things contribute to our sense of well-being. Wellness is your reward for taking care of yourself. Therefore, it is crucial to set aside personal time to allow your body to unwind.
